Matthew,
i'm not enitrely sure where you are right now, but I'd like to express the awe that this trip has instilled within me. Not only do I completely and utterly admire your balls for doing this but I've started to put the wheels into motion for doing something similar withing the next 18 months or so. Because. Of. You. Whether it will actually happen is another thing, but I've thought about nothing but your trip for the last two weeks.
Anyway, keep it it up mate. Yours is the most life affirming adventure I've ever heard of and had been elaborately told in the far reaches of west wales. I can't empathise for a second but hope you work through any dark moments, never forgetting your goal, enjoying as much as you can the truly epic journey you're making,
Truly, well done.
QPR are still shit, :picard: awooga etc.

Hi Nick - I'm an old friend of your Mum and Dad, and a keen cyclist. Just accessed your website for the first time. Great website and informative and blogs. I was particularly interested in your experience in the marijuana growing region of N California. On a cycling tour there in 2007 we experienced a less friendly side to these 'farmers' on the way into Mendocino - one of them tried to run us off the road - twice!!
Best of luck with your ongoing journey!

Just ran into Matthew going through Bellingham Washington on his way down Chuckanut drive, on a cold and dreary day. Probably didn't appreciate me stopping him on the climb to talk. Sounds like quite an adventure.
I've been maintaining a web site for a friend who passed through here recently from Inuvik and AK back to Colorado - not quite the scope of Matthew's adventure, though. Good luck.

Hey Matthew!
Nice to see your travels continue north safely. Thanks again for some company and a few good laughs in an empty old train station...good times :)
The trails up here in the Kootenays have been rough on my poor tires but very good for my spirits...lotsa spectacular views and a ton of photos. Can't wait to get to see them on something a little more substantial that a little screen.
Well, I wish you a continued amazing adventure and safe travels.

It was a such an amazing and inspiring experience to share my home with you. I hope you are safe and sound soon in Ulsan ( and I hope you have a better experience there than Neil did!). I ran into David from PR yesterday and he told me the story is written and proofed so I'll be sure to send copies! Maybe we can get an electronic copy for your site!
Miss you lots and hope you are well! Hopefully I'll be seeing you in South American next year!

Oh my god! What you doing is incredible. I just got back from travelling the easy way, you know on those big flying tins us normal people call planes. I actually saw your twin in Tailand. Was convinced it was you, but it was not...
I also spent a month in South Africa (truly amazing place) and have a few contacts that may help you get some cool visits to animal breeding projects. I am hopefully going back to work on one in a few months so you'll have to let me know when you plan to do that part.
and I don't know if your going through Uganda, but if you are, my Dad can definately organise a school or two or three to see you. He does loads of charity work with schools there and has government backing, so im sure he could be a help.
Let me know and keep up the awesome trip. I am following avidly from oh so dull England!
